gorgeous but not for every baby October 23, 2009 Amazon Greek (New York, NY) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We fell in love with this cradle when I was pregnant with our first child. He slept in it for exactly three minutes. Same with our second baby a year later. We even had purchased a thicker cradle mattress (the 1-inch one that comes with it seems inadequate). I know someone else whose babies all loved it. For us, it's a gorgeous place to hold diapers, wipes, and clothes at this point. :( I'm giving it away.
underwhelming August 12, 2009 avidbuyer (LV , NV) This was easy to assemble, but once done, it's a little flimsier than most. A selling point of this bassinet is that it's portable but once you scoot it from one room to another more than a few times, the legs get a little wobbly.
Also, the "pin" that is supposed to keep the cradle in place falls out too easily, and catches against the wood, which of course scratches it.
Another time, the pin goes in, but the pin is so thin that the cradle moves about. So if baby rolls to the side, he will be on a slight incline, which may wake him up because the pin comes out so easily and is the wrong girth. Also, my son got his foot stuck through the slats.
Adequate April 24, 2009 Yousif A. Hassan (Boston, MA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a decent product, but it seems a tad overpriced for the actual quality. It's easy to assemble, that's a plus, but it's not exactly going to wow you with its sturdiness. While I understand that it's supposed to hold an infant, a little more rigidity would be nice. I don't like the way the legs seem to wobble a bit when you rock the cradle. The alignment seems a little bit off, too - the sleeping area and the legs are slightly skewed.
You will want to replace the flimsy mattress that comes with it, too.
It does seem adequately safe, and my child sleeps fine in it.
Also, it's a nice look - a modern take on a classic idea, and that's well-accomplished with this design, so there are good points, too.
If it were cheaper, I would rate this higher, because it's not bad, but for the flaws it has, it shouldn't cost as much as it does.
Great for the price January 27, 2009 Michael Wu 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looks good.
Very easy to assemble.
Decent construction (great for the price paid).
Light = easy to carry and move around (but not too flimsy).
Sturdy for newborns. But moved to heavier crib when our son was 3 months.
Great shower gift December 7, 2008 Toaster (New York City) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I gave this to my friend as a shower gift for a couple of reasons, besides being beautiful and well made, it gives her the option of moving it from room to room since it has wheels. This will give her more freedom and less worry, especially as a new mom being concerned she can have the baby where ever she goes in the house. Also when the baby gets big she can put his toys in it or blankets since it is very much a beautiful piece of furniture.
