Product Description
The Babyletto Mercer Crib by Da Vinci is the perfect style of convertible crib for any contemporary nursery. The crib grows with your child and is ready to become a fashionable toddler bed when the time comes by simply using the guard rail conversion kit, which is included. The crib can also convert to a chic-looking daybed perfect for any contemporary setting. The hidden hardware is not only attractive but safer for little hands and fingers.. The crib coordinates beautifully with the Babyletto Modo 3-Drawer Changer for a polished look in your little one's bedroom.

5 out of 5 stars Love the Mercer Crib!   February 4, 2010
Kimb Atkinson (Alameda, CA, USA)
My father-in-law got us this crib as our Christmas present - our beebs is due March 31,2010. We LOVE the modern style and drawer space at the bottom. The crib is so easy to put together. Maybe took us an hour (we were watching a football game while assembling). Very clean style. LOVE our crib!

4 out of 5 stars Looks Fabulous, Some Pieces Could Be More Solid   December 17, 2009

Item is very heavy in the box. Being 7 months pregnant when it arrived, (it was left on the porch when I wasn't at home), I was not able to lift or drag it over the threshold and into the house. Because the front and back crib panels are a few inches off the ground, you will need two people to put this together. It took my husband and I about 2 hours, mainly because we were trying very hard not to scratch anything, but a couple of the directions were a little off. It really wasn't hard to put together, though. The worst part is the safety stickers all over one of the brown panels - we still haven't gotten those off. Be sure to take them off before you start assembling - it will be easier on you that way. Also, the instructions say not to use a power screwdriver, but we did, carefully & on the lowest setting, and that saved a ton of time and did not split or damage anything.

The wood is a little soft. I imagine it will scratch and ding very easily. All four panels have marks you can see where each vertical rail was nailed to the top piece - the directions try to help you position those pieces so you won't see the marks. They are tiny enough, and they were painted over, so they didn't bother me. The drawer pieces are very flimsy, other than the front. Besides that, the crib seems very sturdy once assembled.

I liked that it came with a toddler rail and has multiple positions for the mattress. The best part is the style. It is just very difficult to find modern baby furniture, and when you do, it's very expensive. We bought this with the Baby Italia Scandi dresser, and they look great together.

If you have modern sensibilities, you won't want to buy a crib skirt - sorry - you are going to have to with this crib, or you will see a gaping hole and everything in the bottom drawer. Find a straight skirt or one with a single pleat instead of ruffles; it won't detract from the minimalist look of this lovely crib.

5 out of 5 stars Modern-sturdy   October 2, 2009

this is a great modern, sturdy crib. The look is really nice, and the two tone wood makes it even better. I have it for my baby daughter, the size is great and she sleeps well.

You can convert it to a toddler bed, I haven't done it yet, but I'm sure it will be an easy conversion.

Build quality is good, and assembly instructions were easy to follow. Took me about 2 hours to build.

5 out of 5 stars Love it - just something to be aware of...   August 23, 2009

I'm 7 months pregnant and haven't actually used it yet but we put it together and it's really cool looking. The only thing you need to know is that it runs slightly smaller than most cribs. I was intent on using an organic mattress but tried 2 different ones that were 52" long and found that they were too big and didn't fit. So, I had to go with a Simmons Mattress that is about 51" long. It fits perfectly but it was a struggle trying to find a mattress that fit. Simmons apparently works the best. As long as you're prepared for that, you should be happy with the crib!
